  He totally blew smoke up my a$$!!

  i hope you all remember me...a few months back i wrote and said that my husband who is a jw...a very passive agressive jw...told me i was satan's minion and that my literature on the shelf had demons that were attacking his jw literature and he moved all of his literature to our bedroom floor.

  he also said that my activities online were going directly against jehovah and that it was destroying our marriage.

  being as we have three young kids, and he wasnt going to meetings much anyway...i decided it would be a small thing for me to give up my online persona and remove my literature to save the marriage.

  You two really know the truth about "the truth". What worldlygirl said sounds about right. He could be manipulating things so you will be the one who leaves. Are the children your from a previous relationship or are they both of yours? I would make sure you read the information on custody battles on Freeminds and consult a lawyer, just so you know how you stand and what your rights are and how to protect yourself and your children.

  In a recent thread Shunned Father reported on his legal case and the judge's statement that the Watchtower was the destruction of their marriage. So much for creating loving families and keeping families together. Realistically, how much longer can you live like this? Is your home constantly a battleground, or is it OK most of the time. Is he a great Dad? If it continues like this, are you going to want to stay married?

  Could there be a "nice and spiritual" JW lady at the Hall who just might be interested if he was free?

  well after two months of silence i got a couple of phone calls from my "best jw friends".

  probably motivated by november watchtower instructions, they were nice asking about a family, kids etc, and then came "the" question: when are you going back to the meetings?

  i told them again reasons why not ,yet they tried to be sympathetic by warning: as long as you do not go around and bad-mouth the organization we can still be friends.

  My family has never been JW, so my kids have always celebrated Christmas. Pretending about Santa is all part of a game and innocent fun. My 15 year old daughter puts out a can of Coke (her dad's favorite beverage) and shortbread cookies beside the fireplace every Christmas eve. She knows very well who Santa and Mrs. Santa are, but she does it anyway. That empy can and plate with crumbs better be there in the morning, too, because she checks. All part of family traditions.

  Many years ago when she was still small, my son, who is 4 years older, knew there was no real Santa and she still believed. He took great joy in NOT spoiling it for her. He thought it was great that he was part of this adult fun game that is for "little" kids. Even though they are far from little kids now, they still love the myth of Santa and love pretending it is the jolly old fellow or his wife who fills their stockings.

  I hope your whole family experiences the joy and happiness of the Christmas season and in building your own traditions. I hope your kids love Santa till they are old and grey. Remember that the spirit of Santa is about giving, not just getting.

  Blue Bombers, no way! GO, ESKIMOS, GO!

  Edmonton is a real sports city, Badger, and my husband a true sports fan. I would have to refer the size of the field to him, because I have no idea. Wait, maybe I do, does "an emphasis on a passing game" sound right? I don't have much to do with sports. I'm a dance Mom, not a hockey Mom.

  Badger, you're from Texas and you know about the Grey Cup? Wow, you impress me! You'll have to come up and ski the Rockies or something.

  Simon, yes of course you will learn the hockey rules, and how to ski and become and enthusiastic Canadian. We can't wait to you and Ang and the boys make it here to stay.

  Yeah, it was cold, but it was a dry cold (Alberta humor). People's beer was freezing in the cups, not to mention taking your mitt off for long to drink just wasn't worth it. I think, living in a climate with real winter, you learn to just dress warmly and get on with life. If you stay inside just because it is cold, you'd never do anything. I am considerabley wimpier than my husband. He will ski unless it is so cold that they shut the lifts. My hubby said that some people came to the game in sneakers and baseball caps, and that is just plain stupid. If you dressed for the weather, it was part of the experience.

  So many Canadian men grew up playing community league hockey. Walking to the neighbourbhood rink in your equipment and carrying your stick and skates. In the cold, because the cold didn't matter, unless they closed the rink, in which case you were disappointed. You were going to play hockey with your buddies. Having to scrape the ice before you play or after your game. All part of the history of our national game.

  My husband had a wonderful childhood, doing just those things. I think the exreme weather made it feel more "right" to him. He still, at age almost 50, plays hockey once a week with his friends( but in a rink in a shopping mall now).

  Crisis of Conscience availabitity

  Our public library had it 2 years ago, and it is gone now. The librarian told met that many religious books just disappear of the shelves. Some Christian bookstores carry it, or can order it for you, if you aren't comfortable ordering off the internet.

  I got Fired!

  i got a job at wendys.

  today, after school when i went in to work, the manager says she need to talk to me.

  I know that there is even more rules here, to do with how late at night they can work and if they can be alone working at night. If I recall, the regulations tightened here after something bad happened to some 14 year old girl who worked alone in a convenience store late at night, or something like that.

  Most of my daughter's friends, who are about the same age as Missy, work in retail clothing stores...and spend lots of their paycheck there. lol

  I'm so glad that this was brought back up because I had missed it.
